Differences between Puja, Homa & Yagya

Pujas are small rituals that anyone can do and everyone does. Here quality, quantity, regulations, procedures and correctness is not much taken care. All that matters is your emotion and your devotion.
Homa or Hawan is fire sacrifice and is a part of Puja. When we call something homa, that means a homa or hawan with bigger quantity of mantra. Puja still remains required. Also in homa, the procedure is often not followed correctly and completely. 90% of Pandits doing puja and homa have never been in school for this education (there is more than sufficient education in India). At the same time by a Puja or Homa not such result is expected. Hardly 5% people report little betterment after Puja and Homa.
